The narrator doesn't mention a name but could this be the tomb of Sheik Haidar? The area was indeed part of historic Khorasan. If not, then perhaps a local Sufi saint .

This film takes place in Dara Adam Khel the infamous gun market in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which is the current name for the Pakistan tribal areas around the Khyber pass. The lines between Pakistan and Afghanistan blur there. If interested ,research the "Durrand line" , "Pashtunistan" and " Pakistan federally administered tribal areas"
A wonderful view of this area and culture in the modern era...does contain a few "hash sightings"

In a more developed area of Afghanistan[note the power lines in the distance] a variation on the Moroccan technique is employed. Afghan Charsula Zindabad !!

A private film made in 1970 in Afghanistan. At about 20 mins in we see sieving and perhaps most interestingly the "Ustad" or "Master" shaking a pouch of resin, presumably to allow small particulates to escape through the pores in the material further purifying the "garda" or resin powder .

Herat Afghanistan is sort of the sister city to Mashad in Iran. In this area Sufism runs deep. One can hear "Kalandari" being shouted out. Kalandar being a Sufi sect...also note the decoration on the chillam [chillum] which can denote Sufism as well. In Afghanistan "chillam' does not refer to the hand held clay chillum of India but instead to the long, straight stemmed version of the water pipe .
