ALWAYS start at the lower end of the temperature range and move up from there IF necessary. Most of the time, you can successfully vaporize at the lowest temp in the range.

ULTRA HIGH TEMPERATURE: up to 200C (392F)
Temps over 200C are not recommended

Salvia Divinorum: 200C (392F)

Toxic byproducts do get emitted at temperatures over 200C as you get closer to combustion. Due to that, we do not recommend anyone use continuous temps over 200C.

Herbs and Essential Oils are the easiest to vaporize.
Barks and Roots are harder to vaporize, make sure they are finely ground.

Bubbleman has combined mint and weed he says it makes for a smoother hit. Guess thats why they came up with menthol cigs. Peace GS

ps. I have never tried combining as I like the taste of most of the weed I vape. Not big on flavored papers etc. either

bubbleman and I made bubble hash from mint leaves many years ago
it was awesome tasting and actually melted a little
we took turns sprinkling bits of mint bubble on top of hits of canna bubble, there was not much at all and when bubbleman took his hit he looked over at me and said 'wow that's the first time I didn't cough'

Great info on vape temps. Like PH2 I didn't know that some of those herbs were vapable.
Does one vape milk thistle for aromatherapy? or does it still give the benefits of taking it orally. ( Used for liver ailments/health )

I am also interested in vaping Calea as I have heard the smoke is not all that pleasant.
Blue Lotus is another herb I wouldn't mind trying.
Have tried Kratom extract but I took that orally.
Any info on vape temps for Pedicularis Densiflora? ( Indian Warrior )
    Once again, great post G.S.

    Great read !!

who here actually vapes cannabis at 365 or lower?

for me being an ex bonger i really like 375, at 365 the vapor is very light and its hard to get a full effect.

also, does anyone have any comments about the chromatography that takes place vaping?

the first bag or fraction contains all the volatiles and tastes great!
the next few have the bulk of the thc and get you blasted
next is where the higher boiling point cbd comes off and it tastes like burnt nuts and the vapor is light....]

I want to figure out how to get more cbd in my vape, maybe vaporizers could be under vaccum to lower the boiling points?

I like to vape at 6 on the Volcano. Think its about 390. I like the terp hits, makes my head feel all airy. As to cbd perhaps starting with high cbd cannabis would be a good start. Seems over the years this has been bred out in order to grow high thc cannabis. Have been told landraces and ibl's are a good place to start to look. Good luck. Peace GS

my friend used to have a big chunk of hemp hash, it was quite the conversation piece, looked like the good stuff but really it was all cbd
having smoked that and some big hemp gagger out of curiousity I never really found it to be pass out stuff, more like physically numbing...I can see how it might be useful for adhd, nerve problems, etc.
the pass out stuff I would guess would from be the combination of thc and certain terpenoids like possibly myrcene for instance

Think Sativex is 50% thc and 50% cbd. I hear it is quite uplifting. Peace GS

yes I do believe it's a 50/50 mix of ethanol extracts from 2 strains, one pure hemp and one pure sativa

it was interesting how in that nature of things special they said that the cbd can counter act the psychosis that a small % of people experience when using high thc cannabis.

I should have phrased my thoughts better, its more of a distillation that occurs, there is separation but not based on the affinity of the compounds to a stationary phase just purely on their volatilty and boiling point

sativex is based on a co2 extract, theyre patent is available online somewhere

    there's a few gw patents here lol -> http://v3.espacenet.com/searchResults?PA=GW+PHARMA&DB=EPODOC&submitted=true&locale=en_EP&ST=advanced&compact=false

so iirc the various terpenoids can be separated by isoprene units, relatively speaking, do you think cannabinoids separate together (i.e. thc and cbd in the same fraction)?

I'm more curious if they will extract together in a co2 system, as the various types of terpenoids and other compounds should extract into their own fractions, meaning they have relatively similar boiling points and volatility

you could potentially fractionate the terpenoids from the cannabinoids but it would be difficult. fractionating the individual cannabinoids with co2 is possible as well but requires special equipment and a lengthy development process. The technique (on a larger scale than just analysis equipment) would be SCF column chromatography. Would be a pain in the arse, what i think GW does and others have eluded to it here: they grow a strain which produces the desired cannabinoid ratio or they blend materials accordingly then extract directly from the material which had the correct ratio to begin with. This way they dont need to focus on the fractionation/ blending of individual cannabinoid fractions.

as far as i can tell they do extract equally as well ( cbd and thc) with co2
need to get going on some analysis hopefully in the new year.

Im running my vape at 375 f still has worked good so far.
runs best with a dollup of extract of course :)

    PEACE
